Right now I am just a pre-Business major. In order to get into the undergraduate program and the specialization you want to take, you have to apply to the Business program in Fisher College of Business first. I, personally, do not think it is necessary at all. Maybe because I failed in getting into it. There are two ways or two sets of criteria that you can get into the program with. The first way is to get a 3.4 GPA with no other requisites; the second way is to maintain a 3.0 GPA, and finish English 110, Math 131/151 and 132/152, and have already got 45 credit hours. I applied last quarter and I thought there was no problem that I can get a GPA greater than 3.4. However, I did not fulfill it. Therefore, I did not get into the program. I was mad at myself, especially when the people I know all got accepted. But that would not do anything to change the decision, so I guess I will apply again next quarter. But that time, I am definitely sure that I will get into it because all I need is a 3.0 GPA and that is easy to achieve.
I want to be Finance major. Call me a materialist, but I want to make a lot of money. I will probably work in an investment bank after I graduate. Both of my parents work hard to support me to study in the Ohio State University, and the tuition is way up high. I have been spending too much of the money they make. So after I graduate, I will pay them back. It is my responsibility to ensure that both of my parents live happily. By the way, the other reason I choose to be Business major is because both of my parents’ work relates to business and they both studied business in school. My dad has a bachelor degree and a master degree in Business Administration. Although my mom studied Law in college, she also got a master degree in International Trade.
Another finance major! This is a popular major here. I believe you will do well in it. Good luck!
