No.60: A Word

I am blogging about the longest word in the world tonight! It is “smiles”! Ok, did you laugh? It was a joke that my English teacher put into one of our tests as an extra credit point in middle school. In that test, I knew the answer had something to do with the word “smile”, but I only put the word “smile”. Then I got that question wrong and did not get that extra credit point. The reason that “smiles” is the longest word is because there is a “mile” between the two “s”. I love this joke, not just because it is tricky and funny, but also because everyone in the world smiles. It is a word to show people your friendliness. When you first meet someone and you have no idea who that person is, the best way to get to know each other is to smile first. Smile can pull strangers together and make them become friends. It is a magical word and also a magical thing to do.

When I first looked at this topic today, I actually had no idea which word I would blog about. Then this joke popped up in my brain, and I decided to write about it. There are so many nice things about smiles that I cannot put every single one of them into this paper. And I guess everyone has his or her own different understanding and distinct stories about smile. So that’s it for today’s blog. Remember, always smile!
