No.41: Compelling

I know the biggest problem when I am writing a paper is the wording. I want everything in my paper to sound sophisticated, but I find it is really hard to achieve. Although I have been here for a while, and I don’t have trouble with listening or speaking English, I am not good at writing papers. Not trying to be humble, but I do not think my paper is going to be very compelling.

I still love my argument though. I am the kind of person that takes friendship very seriously. I remember when I was in middle school, and we had a class meeting one day. Our teacher asked us to write down a wish that we hope to achieve together with our best friends. A lot of the students in my class wrote that they wish to go to the same high school together. But what I put down on the paper was so different from theirs; I wrote I wish we could be friends forever. I wanted to keep all the friends I had made until the day I die, but as time passed by, I lost contact with some of them. And I kind of regret and feel sad because of that. I knew the friends I have made and they are nice people. So I think, for the patho part of being compelling, I am pretty sure I can get it done well.

However, for the etho and logo part, I do not know about those. I do not have enough evidence except for my personal experience, and I am not sure that they are going to be very persuasive.
